Here a gourmet tour with wine tasting is on offer, but it is famous for the “Gold of Varna.” You might wish to see the 6,000-year-old Thracian jewellery discovered in a necropolis. It is at the Archaeological Museum, which also has relics that date back to the Early Paleolithic Age. Here you can walk through the eras and periods of the past, including findings from the Bronze and Iron Ages. It also has Greek, Roman and Ottoman antiquities. Or stroll the bar-lined waterfront promenade with its seaside city garden with its statue of Yuri Gagarin in the Alley of the Cosmonauts: Gagarin himself inaugurated this part of the garden in front of large crowds in 1961. There is a Dolphinarium and Aquarium.
