Naxos, Greek Island in the South Aegean, is the largest of the Cyclades island group. It boasts ancient ruins and long stretches of beach. The port town is also referred to as Hora or Chora. It is protected by a castle on the hill that overlooks the port. Kastro Castle dates back to the 13th century and inside there is an archaeological museum.
