Montevideo is opposite Buenos Aries, and is where the Tango was first danced by European immigrants, slaves, and the working classes.
The Tango is one of the most sexual, artistic, and influential dances in history and both sides of the river argue as to where it was developed. The first thing that hits you is how clean and friendly Uruguay is. As you walk from the port there is a tourist office and helpful guides, and the city has a walking tour map to help you orientate yourself.
