Jean Cruises into Montego Bay, Jamaica and finds Margaritaville and the beach as part of her very cheap tour, what a great day. Jamaica can appear confusing at the port because, so many are relaxed about explaining what they are selling. You can take a long walk into the tourist downtown or a shuttle for about seven dollars each way, but a tour is very short as there is not much to see, and as Jean shows, she had time for a lot more. See our tour contact, Noel. We struck lucky, and it was the cheapest tour we had on the whole holiday and maybe the best.
We have previously done and loved the Bob Marley Museum, horse riding in the sea, and Dunns River (links supplied by GYG).
Needless to say, there is a lot to do BUT! It was National Margarita Day and it must have been five o’clock somewhere. Jimmy Buffett was the founder of the Margaritaville brand, which includes restaurants, resorts, and other businesses inspired by his hit song “Margaritaville”. According to Forbes he owned a 28% stake. They now own two ships as well as resorts.

Montego Bay is a mix of wealth and poverty, success and hope, not helped by the all-inclusive resorts that have left much of Montego Bays 50 year old hotels in ruin.
The island has a lush topography of mountains, rainforests and reef-lined beaches, coloured by bars and infused by music and in some places the sweet smell of Colitas. Jamaica is famed as the birthplace of reggae music, and the picture on the park wall are amazing.
