Margaritaville – its five o’clock somewhere.

Margaritaville brand is named after Jimmy Buffett’s song “Margaritaville”. There is a very lively bar in Grand Turk, and a quieter one in Jamaica which is still being rebuilt after storm damage.
The Margaritaville cruise ships are owned by Margaritaville at Sea, a company that’s majority-owned by the Sheehan family – descendants of Kevin Sheehan, the former CEO and President of Norwegian Cruise Line. Sycamore Partners, a private equity firm, also has a controlling interest in Margaritaville at Sea.

The Margaritaville at Sea Islander was built in 2000 as the Costa Atlantica for Costa Cruises. It was sold to Carnival Cruise Shipping in 2019, then to Margaritaville at Sea.
The Margaritaville at Sea Paradise was built in 1991 as the Costa Classica for Costa Cruises. It was sold to Bahamas Paradise as the Grand Classica in 2018, then to Margaritaville at Sea in 2022.
Margaritaville Holdings LLC owns the brand, which is a subsidiary of Cheeseburger Holding Company, LLC.
