The Baixa-Chiado Lisbon Christmas Market normally opens early, around mid NovemberThis one is the Rossio Square one, near the Rossio Station. where the free walking tours tout their trade. You can easily get to Queluz Palace in the morning and be back to go to Time Out for lunch and then do this square and Christmas market.
This Lisbon Christmas market is a square of the sales sheds used at most markets now. Various events are planned. We included the sardine shop across the road because it looks Christmasy with its colours and lights, but it certainly wasn’t Christmas for the fish…. The market is in the main square with the fountains. That is about 4 blocks back from the main heroic Constitution Square on the seafront that we have shown in most videos. If you walked further, you would go past Rossio Station into the next square that has a vehicular up the hill. There are other Christmas markets such as Wonderland Lisboa which is located in Eduardo VII Park in the centre of Lisbon.

We visited it after our trip to the National Palace of Queluz which we did by train from Rossio Station. The easy journey took 18 minutes, and the palace was a short walk downhill. We then went for a drink at the Time Out Market.
The Time Out Market Lisboa is a food hall located in the Mercado da Ribeira at Cais do Sodré.

Then we had a show to go to…
We then wandered back to our cruise ship, the P&O Iona, where we had tickets to see the early show of Gary Barlow performing live with his own band. All in all, quite a treat of a day.
