Gytheio is a pantheon city, but there is little to do and most relax on the beach. Tourists will either choose the Tower of Tzanetakis, the amphitheatre and the historic area to walk around, or the beaches like Mavrovouni, Ageranos or Selinitsa Beach, or maybe Shipwreck Dimitrios or the Caves of Diros. There is also Biohof Karababas (Farmers Markets), the town of Areopolis and the fishing village of Gerolimenas. There are as many ways to spell Gytheio as there are beaches.
