Georges Hermann Mumm champagne is one of the most famous and trendy. They appear to be a fun but corporate company and the tour is slick and informative with a great collection of museum pieces.
The G H Mumm’s path to international success is derived from the visionary development that also went into the wine. Georges Hermann brought a philosophy of excellence and innovation to the company that still guides our champagne production, nearly 200 years later. He is also responsible for creating the famous red ribbon, a worldwide symbol of quality since 1876. A marketing trick that worked well. The guided tour of the cellars is followed by a tasting of Mumm Cordon Rouge, the symbolic Mumm champagne. It is fantastic. The site is in Reims, near the market and a few good bars and restaurants that you will pass walking back into the town.
