Fredericia and Middelfart, Denmark

Fredericia (and Middelfart) joined since 1935 by a bridge across the Little Belt, is used by Marella & Oceana ships and a few others. It is a port in Denmark on some Baltic routes and has some blue flag beaches and a very special model town.Ships Dock Here – Google Map position It is a fortress town named after Denmark’s 17th-century king, Frederick III, and sits on the eastern shores of the Jutland Peninsula. It has some history to share. The local visitors centre for Fredericia & Middelfart have guided tours all throughout the year, and you can sign up via our booking portal. Click here for more information. Fredericia has the ramparts and historic city centre, and Middelfart has the old town and a nature Belt.

Fredericia’s crescent-shaped wall, old quarter, with grand archways and columns marking the various entry points hides the military history.

The picturesque waterfront, is not to be ignored, with lengths of sandy beaches. Osterstrand and Hyby Strand both have blue flags and there is a cosmopolitan marina.

In Miniby there is a model version of the entire town, which is about waist height and you walk around it. See here.
