Named after the 16th-century Portuguese navigator and explorer, the port of Diego Suarez is in the Madagascar city of Antsiranana. It is the largest city in the north of Madagascar. The island’s 3rd port was for a long time a French garrison. Ramena beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, with miles of turquoise water and white sand. With many fishing villages and the Amber and Ankarana Mountains as background, it is picturesque. Local boats and fishermen will be happy to make trips for you.
