We Will Rock You – the musical at sea on the Anthem of the Seas

The theatres inside ships are bigger than many Broadway and West End theatres. The Royal Theatre on the Anthem of the Seas is a Broadway-style theatre on decks 3–5. A Broadway theatre has to have more than 500 seats, this theatre has 1,299 seats. It currently plays a fully licensed production of the Ben Elton West End and Broadway musical We Will Rock You (often abbreviated as WWRY). The biggest theatre on a P&O ship is the Britannia with 950 seats still way bigger than many theatres on land.

Each major Island and Caribbean Season Destination has a guide or film about the tours here !The WWRY musical tells the story of a group of Bohemians who struggle to restore the free exchange of thought, fashion, and live music in a distant future where everyone dresses, thinks and acts the same. It is based on the songs of the British rock band Queen with a book by Ben Elton and set in a time when musical instruments and composers are forbidden, and rock music is all but unknown. It became one of the top ten longest-running shows in the West End at the Dominion Theatre, and is now all at sea. It is just one of the major shows that play on the Royal Caribbean ships. Others include Grease, Saturday Night Fever, and Mamma Mia. The show players are cast from the very best performers around and sent by agents. The demands for an audition can be found on our casting page. Even Brian May has been on stage with the production at sea.
