This is very likely to be the smallest ship in port. 1350 passengers in 627 state rooms in this small cozy 1983 built ship, owned by Holland and America and operated by Thomson Cruises. The Spirit is the longest-serving ship in the Thomson fleet and is as popular now as it’s ever been, certainly with those who love small ships with a homely feel. It offers a lot of what the larger ships do, it just appears more friendly – fine dining, Gym with ocean views, and entertainment that includes everything from Broadway-style shows to live cabaret and a full daytime activity programme. Dining at the Compass Rose Restaurant is an elegant affair at breakfast, lunch and in the evening for a multi-course dinner with waiter service. It has an open-seating policy, so you can dine where and when you like during opening times. The Lido restaurant is the buffet. We spent ages looking for a concise video of the Spirit that was up to date and although we don’t normally like to use the commercial film this was the best. Click through here to Thomson to check best deals and availability.

READ THE CRUISE BEFORE YOU CRUISE THE SEA. In the book charts, SOLO CRUISER BOOK SERIES. Violet Becket has never cruised. In fact, she has been nowhere in a long time. Too long. Book 1, Virgin Voyage has been in the book charts for some weeks now.
Violet has never had romance, never ever. As an older woman time is running out and she needs to make a change. This romantic read is based around cruises because once she cruises she loves it. That is her romance, well, there is a little more. Sally Katz used the films on Doris Visits to peg her books on! With permission. Each is a good read but there has yet to be a book based in this region, even though each book takes place on a cruise! Book 1 is a Canary Islands cruise, Book 2 is in the Baltic, Book 3 is in the Caribbean, and Book 4 goes from the ABC islands through the Panama Canal.
