Stress Relief and Keeping your hands subtle
Squeezee earth ball for travellers from our resident stuntman
Many people travel for a rest, to get away from the stress. Something hit me recently and that was as well as stress, loss of movement in the hands and arthritis in the hands can be a major problem. There is a saying, ‘if you don’t use it, you lose it’. This definitely applies to the hands, plus, brush up on your geography while exercising your hand. Simply moving them to the extreme, pulling them back then down is helpful and if you see me on board ship I often just stop and hand exercise.
I had 13 breaks in the left wrist performing a stunt on the pop video Wild Boys, broke the left meta something (small finger pulled right back) on Casualty, and have broken the small thumb bones many times and had them pinned (Trapezium and Scaphoid).
So exercising the hands is good to keep them working, and to relieve stress. These are simple things to pack in the suitcase, use while travelling or keep in the car. Not at dinner, they and phones should be banned at dinner.
The Spinner is an adult toy that you will mainly use on one finger, but try others and both hands. You will find it addictive. It helps you concentrate, but not while typing on a keyboard. Simply hold this spinner in one hand then use your other hand to spin it rapidly using small continuous strikes to keep it spinning indefinitely. It’ll take a little bit of practice to get some decent action going, but it’s super easy to happen plus you’ll be thrilled by the fast, length spins.
The good old Stress Ball. When these fun guys only cost a pound or so, why are you not breaking down the crystals that build up in your hands? There is no point in letting your hands get old before their time. If your hands hurt, do a little each day, it is likely they will improve and the pain will lessen very quickly.
The Squishy Mess. If you like to be a little different, then the squishy mess is a step up from the stress ball. It feels weird. Like a bunch of grapes you cannot squash. There is something strangely therapeutic to this. Good as a stocking filler or joke present for that person who thought they had everything!
Hand sized GLOBE STRESS BALLS
And my big final. Are GLOBE STRESS BALLS for the traveller who wants to know where stuff is. Yes, small globes as stress balls. Ideal for the traveller, great conversation starters. Click here. Brush up on your geography while exercising your hand.
