Below Decks – what is it like in the crew areas

Many of you have been asking about the crew areas and how a ship works, so we have found a couple of guest presenters to work with us to take you down below decks. Michelle Tim is going to be come a familiar name. Here she takes you down to the main corridor, very similar on may ships. Here it is nicknamed i95 – very American. But it is like the promenade deck for guests, it connects most things together.

Crew live on board, for long periods so they do have areas to relax and play. Few have privileges that allow them up into passenger areas like gym or buffet, so this is where theirs are. So crew corridors have carpets, but the main areas take peeled trolleys, so they are clean polished floors.

If you enjoy knowing more about your ship, then watch out for another expanding area on Doris Visits which, is 100% cruising. We are now functional on smart phone, so take advantage and share the links and chat.

If you went on board to work as a guest dance instructor or lecturer on smaller ships, this is the corridor where your room would be, but you would probably have guest privileges and use the facilities you all know and love, and may be disallowed from using crew play areas.
