As we have just focussed on the Fred Olsen version of this money back offer for those who do not like the cruise. We felt we had to go back and mention the SAGA offer, which has been around for quite some time. Their offers come under a guarantees page. The money back guarantee version is called Love It The First Time.

This is great for two things. One trying your first ever cruise, and remember they can be VERY different. Look at style, dress code and itinerary. Choosing the right ship is important. So, the second great reason to consider this deal is to try a SAGA ship.

The Love It First Time offer applies to new bookings only and is open to anyone who has not cruised on a Saga-owned ship – including its previous ships Saga Pearl, Saga Rose, Saga Ruby, Quest for Adventure and Spirit of Adventure as well as its current ships. It basically says that if you do not love your first cruise with SAGA they will refund your fare. It applies to cruises booked on the SAGA Sapphire and SAGA Pearl II. It is a similar offer to the Fred Olsen, report the issue on day one or two, they will try and resolve the issue, if they cannot they will fly you home from the next port possible. They will refund the fare and cruise, but not your consumed items.

SAGA also have a great deal promise which makes booking easier. If they offer a deal on a cruise, they will work out the difference and pass it on to you.

The highest SAGA discount is 35% and some areas of the ship have discounts attached. Like restricted view seats in a theatre, there is always a reason for this.

DRESS CODE What to wear on SAGA ocean cruises? They do not claim to enforce strict dress codes on any of our cruises. However, their guest do dress and they state – ‘getting smartly dressed up for the occasional formal night has long been part of the fun of cruising. So make sure you do have your gladrags packed too.’  They then state that casual means smart casual in the evenings and have, like most ships 2 formal nights a week which they suggest is a glamorous long dress or sequinned shall and a dinner jacket and bow tie are the ‘ultimate in sophistication‘ their words.
