How not to get caught when booking a hotel

Here on Doris Visits we are testing a new hotel search engine supplied by one of the majors. We will connect you when we are happy. It means direct from this site you can look for a hotel and maybe extend that cruise by staying on a few days or a week if you end up somewhere nice like Barbados.

Our best test was in Rome because our presenter Jean had just come back from a ‘girls’ weekend, and they thought they had a great deal. Why they didn’t book through our site I have no idea, but sometimes people just don’t. They think there is a catch. Without any trouble we found a great hotel apartment so close to the Vatican we could have had the pope join is for breakfast. It was also cheaper than they paid and no catch. Right next door. Take a look at the film and see where and what it was like. Rome apartment hotel.

We sometimes find some special hotels like Villa Licht in Austria, voted best small or large hotel in Austria, and we extend stay like  Manava Suite Hotel in Tahiti.

You may have a golf hotel like on our film of Belton Woods and other golf hotels.

Type where you want to stay, type closest by distance and the distance is shown and normally explained whether there is a bus or you can walk. We were so close to the Vatican it was about 5 minutes walk.

The key is the price, some hotels load a low price then, under it add taxes. A local tax not being included is OK but watch for it and add it in. Some add as a tax, a towel and video rental tax – it is their way of playing the app. Watch for those compulsory taxes and add them to the price.

That is then the total price. Happy Hunting.

If that helped you, and you have never cruised, let us part with a few words on how to choose which cruise, which ship and where to go, take a look at our how to choose a cruise blog. Why not have a look at the LATE DEALS over a coffee. Doris Visits allows you to SEE THE CRUISE BEFORE YOU CRUISE THE SEA. We have videos of many of the cruise stops you might make from St Lucia to Barcelona, from Tallinn to St Maarten. Please follow us on Facebook and Twitter and share.
