AFFILIATE LINKS

www.DorisVisits.com uses affiliate links. Affiliate links mean that sometimes if you click through to a website and register or purchase something, that site will know we have sent you, and on rare occasions may offer a commission. Amazon is an example.

We use links to Amazon for the Cruise Novels and maybe luggage tags or other items we try and keep 100% cruise related. www.DorisVisits.com is also a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Programme, an affiliate advertising programme designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to AMAZON

DorisVisits.com is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn fees by showing Amazon products. *Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc., or its affiliates.  Doris Visits also participates in other affiliate programs, normally cruise or book related, and we sometimes get a commission through purchases made using our the links we use you may assume links to third parties have these connections. You do not pay extra for ANY affiliate link you click, but that affiliate if they do pay us some money, is helping to pay for our server, widgets, apps and other tools we use to make this site work. To date we have never been a profit making site and the income from books supplements the cruise activity, help and advice we give. If in doubt, assume there may be a marketing link when you go through to a third party site. If you click links we use on other sites, used to drect you to cruise help, sites like Facebook, you should know that they replace our link with their own and that becomes the dominant link meaning they get paid the commission. The only site we can control is DorisVisits.com

All other affiliate partners are in some way CRUISE RELATED.

Some affiliates like Get You Guide we use as a service, so we can show the variety of local tours at a destination. In the first five years of this relationship, it has proved useful, but we have never received a cent in commission from them. Our aim is to help research.

We use Weather and Vessel Finder apps. These are clearly labelled. We receive no income from them.

Clicking through to some cruise operators’ own websites may leave a bread crumb to show we have sent them. Doris Visits is often a Press or Affiliate partner which allows us access to media and facilities. The cookies and marketing on those third party sites, we have no control over and they do not report your information back to us. Such platforms do not give us any information about you, nor do we ask for it.

We are a resource centre and the way our site works is you come to us and take what you need. So our data policy is that we hold no details of third parties, we want none.

Our Site, like almost all websites, uses Cookies

Our website uses cookies to distinguish you and us from other users, which helps us to provide you with a good experience when you browse our website. You can always turn cookies off but we would rather you did not.

Cookies allow us to improve our site and ensure that you can book direct with the end service provider and they know that we have been the source of the lead. They know who to tip!

OUR AFFILIATE LINKS

By us having relationships with affiliates, and them knowing you clicked through us does nothing to affect your experience. By doing this you can then book direct with the service provider, no one else handles your booking or your money which, in this age of online fraud and travel agents going into liquidation is something we feel is very important. We encourage you to book direct with the service provider, cruise line or holiday company, but via the links on our site that take you there. That leaves a breadcrumb cookie and in theory, there is a small chance we might be compensated for this.

Random adverts on our site are supplied by Google Adsense system, and this is done via your relationship with Google and others.
