We are often asked about River Cruising, but it is as vast as Ocean Cruising and we sometimes feel we will never master that in the time given. However, as Fred Olsen have ventured into River Cruising with the Brabant, we are making the effort while our IT department redesign our menus and enlarge the Doris Visits site to demand there is a River Cruising section we can build on.
A quick look at the river going vessel shows it is modern and stylish and has the luxury, food and entertainment you are used to on the Ocean, but with the added attraction of new city like Prague and Budapest to see amongst many others. Easier travel, cheaper insurance than an ocean cruise, but just as much fun.
The small ship takes 156 passengers in 79 rooms, all with cherry wood interiors, stylish décor and generous storage space. Many of the rooms offer Juliette balconies and panoramic windows. As standard all rooms offer a wide range of facilities including a large flat-screen TV, complementary Wi-Fi, individual climate control, an in-room safe and a well-equipped en suite bathroom. This is a perfect fit for those who love small ships and flat calm waters but enjoy being spoilt in style. At 360 feet long she can look large in the rivers she travels at speeds of up to 13.5 nots which appear fast. You notice the speed a little more than on an ocean vessel. There are just two suites on Mozart Deck. These have a long sofa, minibar (payable), desk, cabinet and more room. The Suites come with a bathtub and complimentary bathrobe and slippers. The floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors give excellent views of the river. This might just give you a taste for trying a River Cruise
