This is Cunard’s film on Bergen. We have included it because it is a good film, and when we were there it rained in our film. So you will see Bergen in good and bad weather. If you are a fan of the Cunard ships then we have a chat site for you. JOIN THE NEW CUNARD CRUISE CHAT GROUP ON FACEBOOK
Many Fjords Cruises will either start or finish with Bergen, which is why it earns its name the ‘gateway to the fjords’. The ancient city has much Hanseatic history and offers spectacular sight seeing. The fish market is quite small but very friendly and our team tried whale meat. If the weather is good take the funicular or cable car up for spectacular views and an enchanting park. In our own Doris Visits film we have a tip on how to miss the ticket queue for the funicular. There may also be a chance to take a vintage steam train, but this is one town where the ship docks close and you can walk through history.
P&O ship Azura dropped us there on A720, if you are thinking of a Fjords Cruise here (click) is a quick overview of a number of ports and cities. If you are worried how to choose which cruise, which ship and where to go, take a look at our how to choose a cruise blog. This is a Cunard destination film, it is a good one. Take a look at the Queen Victoria ship.
Take a look around Doris Visits and get more out of your cruise research – guides, tours, cabin tours, ship tours, news.
