Anchorage Guide

A large and cold city, well organised in straight roads that are easy to navigate. But then there is the wild, the glaciers and wildlife. The Chugach State Park covers 495,204 acres with camping, skiing, glaciers and lakes. If you are in for just a day you may try The Tony Knowles Coastal Trail. It is an 11-mile-long paved trail along the coast of Anchorage, Alaska designated for non-motorized use. It runs from Second Avenue in downtown Anchorage and finishes in Kincaid Park. Or, you may hit Downtown Anchorage which offers cultural points of interest and shopping areas amongst the office blocks of a working city. You might like to visit the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Centre which is dedicated to conservation, research, education, and quality animal care. The Anchorage Museum is a large art, history, ethnography, ecology and science museum located in a modern building in the heart of Anchorage.

The Alaska Native Heritage Centre represents the 11 major cultural groups. A cultural institution for all Alaskans. The centre opened in 1999. The Alaska Native Heritage Center shares the heritage of Alaska’s 11 major cultural groups. Been here? Please join one of our chat groups and share.  I SEE LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of SHIPS
