Wow! This is such a good film on the building of a cruise ship, that although we do not feature Aida ships (it is the German speaking European arm of Carnival group that also own P&O, Princess and Cunard) we thought you would like to see it. It could be any of your favourite ships, it is such a great film on the construction of a ship. Not without problems, there we a few slight delays in construction by Mitsubishi Shipbuilding at their shipyard in Nagasaki, Japan. Not delays and pilfering that ended Cruise Ship building in Scotland, but the 2015 world tour stopping at 22 countries was delayed until 2016. The AIDAprima is the flagship of AIDA Cruises and was christened by German child actor Emma Schweiger on 7 May 2016 in Hamburg, Germany as part of the 827th Hamburg Port Anniversary. With cruising becoming huge in Asia, China and Japan, the Marella Discovery starts to base there from winter 2018.
What do you expect from a modern family cruise ship, where you can get away from the others and enjoy a special meal by yourself. The ship is part of the new wave of super-ships at an overall length of 300.00 m (984.25 ft). she has a capacity of 3,300 passengers and 900 crew members, which puts her ar the same size as the Azura and Ventura and slightly smaller than the Britannia. AIDAprima has 18 passenger decks, 15 dining options, indoor and outdoor pools, as well as the AIDA Beach Club pool area. Not only does the Beach Club have the longest indoor water slide on a cruise ship, a rock climbing wall, and a lazy river – it is covered by a transparent UV-permeable membrane dome, allows passengers to relax in a beach setting with natural light despite inclement weather. Then at nightie becomes a discotheque, with stars and lasers projected around the dome. So for those of you asking if your ship has a nightclub, this maybe your ship. AIDA Cruises is an American/British owned German cruise line based in Rostock, Germany and is part of the Carnival Corporation Group of Cruise lines and Aida has been put under the control of Costa Cruises based in Italy – confused – they are cruise ships! Enjoy!
